GENERAL
Does The Field offer Food and Beverage services?
Yes! We are a fully licensed food and beverage venue. We offer a Bistro menu aswell as pre-ordered event packages for functions. The bar also is fully licensed offering all kinds of beverages (alcoholic, non alc, cocktails etc)
Is it necessary to book a table for dining at the bistro?
Yes, we highly encourage you to ALWAYS book a table in advance to avoid being turned down on the day
When is the Bar & Bistro open?
Bar & Bistro operates tuesday - sunday. Find exact hours on our Home Page
Does the venue offer Tea & Coffee?
Yes, only on saturdays & sundays 10am - 12pm we have tea and coffee available
Is your pub dog-friendly, and can families with children visit?
Yes! We are very much dog and family friendly. However as we are also a rugby club, we suggest you book/check what's on in advance as some days there may be rugby or large events that are not suitable for family friendly crowds
Do you have live music or special events, and can I book your pub for private parties?
Any live music or special events will be posted in our "Upcoming Events" Tab on our website aswell as on our social media :)
Can I book a table for a special occasion or a group gathering?
Yes, if you wish to book a table you can do so via the "BOOK A TABLE" Tab on our website, please note, this option you can book for a max of 20 people and it is for everyone to order all their food and drinks on the day, if you wish to pre-order food, please fill out a contact us form, do not book a table
Can you accomodate dietary requests if ordering from your bistro menu?
Yes, we have a variety of vegetarian, vegan, dairy free and gluten free options or sometimes we might be able to slightly alter dishes to accommodate these requests, it is best to reach out to us prior to your booking so we can be sure
Do you serve brunch in addition to lunch & dinner?
Yes! We have recently introduced our BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH package for groups 12 - 20 pax. More info on our "FUNCTIONS" Tab on our website
Do I need a membership to dine at The Field Bar, or can anyone come down?
No you do not need a membership, anyone can attend however we do require you to sign in upon arrival
Can I watch rugby matches on TV at the pub, and do you show live games?
Yes you can! Please reach out to us first if you would like to be sure
Is there a dress code for The Field Bar?
Depending on what's on, their may be however generally we are a fairly casual venue and there are no dress restrictions aside from NO RUGBY BOOTS INDOORS
Is the venue wheelchair accessable?
The ground floor outdoors part of the venue is wheelchair accessable yes, however anywhere else is not sadly as there are many stairs to get up to The Field Lounge on the 1st floor. The ground floor inside there are 2 steps to make it up
Parking?
There are 3 parking areas that we also share with F45 and the golf club. On certain busier days (usually friday - sunday) Parking may be a little difficult and you need to park on O'sullivan Road
Is there a rugby oval attached to The Field Venue?
Yes, it is called the Andrew Petrie Oval
How do I know what's on the rugby oval?
The Oval is under the full control of the WOOLLAHRA COUNCIL, if you wish to get more information, you will need to contact them.
Do you have a schedule of upcoming sports events or games?
We usually recieve the Easts Rugby 2024 draw around november/ december THIS YEAR (2023). More will be posted of this later.
GENERAL INFO
Do you provide a dedicated party area or room for the birthday celebration?
Yes, we have 2 dedicated kids party areas called the GYM AREA & VEGGIE PATCH, learn more about these spaces via our "Event Spaces" Tab on our website. We also do offer a function room called THE FIELD LOUNGE, however this space is suited for much larger groups of about 100 +
What is the maximum number of children and adults that your venue can accommodate?
In our dedicated kids party spaces (GYM AREA & VEGGIE PATCH), we can accommodate a maximum of 70 people INC kids
What are your operating hours for kids' birthday parties?
Kids parties can run: Tuesday - Friday 3pm - 8pm & Saturday & Sunday 9:30am - 12pm OR 2pm - 5pm
BOOKING & RESERVATIONS
How can I book a kids' birthday party at your venue?

Is there a deposit required to secure a reservation for a birthday party?
Yes there is, enquire via our contact us page for more information
What is your cancellation policy for kids' birthday parties?
Cancellations within 5 days of the event date will result in 25% of the final bill to be taken.
Can I visit the venue before booking for my child's birthday party?
Yes you can, but if you wish to speak to our Events Manager, please ensure you book an appointment in advance! Times are very busy and we need to ensure appointments are booked. Otherwise, if you simply wish to view the venue for yourself, you are welcome to pop on down during our opening hours (find on our home page)
Are there any age restrictions for the children attending the party?
No, all ages are welcome and counted into the headcount of 70 pax
PARTY SERVICES & AMENITIES
Do you provide decorations, such as balloons, table settings, or banners for the party?
No we do not, all decorations must be provided by yourself.
Is there a dedicated party host or entertainer to keep the children engaged?
We will have an Event Coordinator who will look after venue setup, food (inc ensuring the food is on time) and beverage requirements however anything further e.g. Entertainer, decorations etc we do not look after
What entertainment options are available for the children during the party?
We have partnered up with Supa Dupa Parties who provide entertainment, Please reach out to them separately. Any other forms of entertainment please approve with the event manager first
Do you provide bouncy castles?
No, we do not however in our kids party spaces you are welcome to outsource one. Size restriction is 4.5m W x 4.5m L x 3.5m H
FOOD & BEVERAGE
Do you offer catering & beverages, or can I bring my own?
We are a fully licensed F & B Venue, we will provide ALL F & B however the only external catering we allow for are occasion related sweets like personalized cakes, cupcakes or lolly bags. Please approve any outside catering with the Events Manager first. All other catering must be sourced through The Field
What does The Field provide for my Kids Party?
All food and beverage, All glassware and beverage requirements (cups, wine glasses, bottle openers, ice buckets etc), Silver cutlery and napkins, The space for you to hire as well as furniture in that space (please note each space has different furniture provided)
Can I bring my child's birthday cake or cupcakes?
We do not offer cake or cupcake services so you are welcome to bring in your own
Are there options for special dietary requests or allergies when it comes to catering?
Yes, we can cater to most dietary requirements, please let us know when you enquire
INVITATIONS & RSVP
Do you provide invitations for the party, or should I create my own?
We do not, you must create your own
What is the process for managing RSVPs and confirming the number of attendees?
We must know final numbers by 10 working days prior to the event date
OTHER
What restrictions are there if any?
All outside food and beverage is restricted
What happens in the event of wet weather?
We will reserve you a space in the indoors part of the venue, the exact whereabouts we sadly cannot confirm until the day of. Unfortunately some forms of entertainment like bouncy castles are restricted indoors. The space inside may be a bit smaller than our outdoors space. Please be mindful of this prior to booking with us
Can I use the Andrew Petrie Oval for my event?
Yes you can. The Woollahra council have full control of the bookings on the oval, if you wish to hire it, you will need to contact them separately. On certain days, there may be things booked on the oval that The Field are not aware of or find out about last minute, please be mindful of this when booking with us
FUNCTIONS
What types of functions and events can I host at your venue?
Most events we allow aside from 16 - 20th birthdays
How many different event spaces do you have, and what are their capacities?
We have 5 semi private and 1 fully private event space in our venue. Capacities of each space vary, refer to our "FUNCTIONS" then to our "OUR SPACES" Tab to find out more infi
Do you offer catering services for functions?
YES. As we are a fully licensed food and beverage venue, we provide ALL catering for ALL events
Can I bring in any external catering?
The only external catering we allow to be brought into the venue are personalised sweet likes birthday cakes, cupcakes or lolly bags. Please approve with us first
What if my event needs to be KOSHER?
If the event has KOSHER requirements, please enquire within and we will introduce you to our KOSHER CATERERS
What does The Field provide for events in the downstairs ground floor area?
We provide all the furniture, crockery (plates, knives, forks, glasses, bottle openers, ice buckets, napkins etc), depending on the event style, not all of these will be provided
What does The Field provide for events in The Field Lounge on the 1st floor?
Private outdoor balcony, Private bar, Private Bathrooms, Parking, Delicious food packages, Air-conditioning, AV facilities such as microphones, lectern, PA system, projector & screen, TV, HDMI connection, Private in house music system, Free Wifi
Can I play music at my function?
For events on the ground floor OUTSIDE, you are welcome to bring a SMALL speaker to play music a very low level. For THE FIELD LOUNGE, music is your choice, you can connect a Spotify playlist to our speakers, have live music ora live band / musician, the choice is yours, please keep us in the loop
If I bring a musician for my event in THE FIELD LOUNGE, does THE FIELD have equipment for them to use?
No, aside from a microphone, muscisions, djs & bands must provide ALL of their own equipment
What is your policy regarding alcohol for private functions, and do you have a bar available?
We will provide all drinks for your event (alcohol, non alc, cocktails, tea & coffee etc), we can run a bar tab, or if you prefer to have your guests buy their own drinks, we can also do that (depending on the package and space you decide to book). Please enquire for more information on drinks offerings
Is there a dance floor or live entertainment available for functions that require it?
Dances floors and live music are only allowed in THE FIELD LOUNGE
Do you provide assistance with event planning, including decor and setup?
Yes, our event planner Claudia will be online to assist you with most aspects of the event including Catering, Beverage and Venue setup requirements. Anything further like decorations or entertainers, must be sourced / planned by you (the client). Then, our events coordinator Mahaylie, will generally be the one who runs your event on the day sticking to a strict running sheet (that would have been submitted and approved by you prior to the event date)
Can I schedule a site inspection of venue to see the available event spaces before booking?
Yes, times are very busy so we need to ensure we make time to meet with you :)
Are there specific hours or days when events can be hosted, or can I book on any day of the week?
The only day the venue is closed is monday. Events can generally happy any other day 8am - 12am tuesday - sunday
Do you have a preferred vendor list for additional services, like photography or entertainment?
Yes, refer to the "OUR PACKAGES" Tab on our website and browse through the appropriate package to see our recommendations
Are there noise restrictions or other policies that event hosts should be aware of?
Strictly NO CONFETTI for ALL EVENTS. Music must be turned down by 11pm for THE FIELD LOUNGE events
